Meet the Author Talk
My talk focuses on how I came to be a writer and my previous career as a Literary Agent and how I believe that helped me develop as a writer. I talk about how and where I get ideas from and how I take an idea and develop it with research and planning before I write. The talk is interactive and includes a couple of short readings from my work. It is also accompanied by visuals. The thematic focus is always around the importance and value of being able to express who you are, which is a recurrent theme in my work.
Workshops
I offer a choice of three workshops. Broadly speaking all workshops focus on using images or objects as a springboard for a story. The workshops work particularly well for students who struggle to come up with ideas or who are generally less confident creative writers.
